LPL Client Letter: September 2024
Market commentary from the research offices of LPL Financial
Barron's Top 100 Financial Advisors 2022 is based on assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work.
The Forbes ranking of America’s Top Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years’ experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK receives a fee in exchange for rankings.
Susan Kaplan started Kaplan Financial in 1993 in Newton, Massachusetts, committed to the highest level of true financial planning. Her first hire was Ann DeCaprio and the two have led the firm from the beginning, with Susan as advisor, head of investments and asset management and Ann the head of operations and financial planning. Over time the firm has grown and is led now by advisors Susan and Lawrence Kaplan (Susan’s son), Ann DeCaprio, and Jamie Freidhof. Directors Danielle Page and Scott Korn are also key players. Each analyst we hire is distinguished by excellence and hard work, and brings valuable insight to each part of a client’s plan as evidenced by Daniel Roundy. In 2022, we brought on two new analysts: Jess Pimenta and Mac Ekeanyanwu. The entire team is dedicated to total care of each client and the excellence of the work to analyze each issue pertinent to that client’s financial life.
